Ten Million Fireflies

Nothing to say...

Making lucky stars while listening to my CD player, cleaning up my suitcases filled with clothes and food, being fascinated by the bipolar weather (cloudy-to-sunny-to-rainy?)... Such a slow day.

I'm strangely not jet lagged at all right now, although the sleepiness tends to kick in around 2 or 3... >< I wonder what time I'll fall asleep tonight... if ever.

Things I'm waiting for:

1. 8/1/2009 Goodbye party for very special friends!
2. 9/14/2009 Muse's new album comes out! I heard that they're going on an US/UK tour... perhaps I'll see them live?
   
3. 3/5/2010 Tim Burton's version of Alice in Wonderland comes out!! I'm super-excited! Go watch the trailer! But maybe I shouldn't get my hopes up too much, in case it's not as amazing as I expected... But seriously? It's Alice in Wonderland!! How bad can you make it? :p
   

Back to making paper stars. This time with pretty metallic paper! The glass jar is almost filled... Yay!!

P.S. Brilliant song my friend showed me... The video is so perfectly-sychronised-glowy!! And I can't stop listening to it... It's funny how the more you listen to a song, it seems to get shorter every time... "Fireflies" ~Owl City -----> Clicky!

Sleepless nights

"We're all quite mad, you'll fit right in." ~an Alice button my friend randomly found... and gave to me. Thank you! It's nice having everyone know your obsession 'cause they tend to associate you with it...

I just called my grandma & grandpa... It's 2 in the afternoon in Beijing, 12-hr time difference... I really miss them...... They told me I can miss them but I can't be sad and let it affect my mood... Now I know what it means when people say they feel guilty if they don't miss anyone but the opposite extreme is being reeeally sad and over-missing...

I still can't sleep and it's now 2:40... I need to listen to peaceful, calm music.... Sigur Rós and Sia, perhaps?

Did you know that instead of "...", in China it's always "......". Six dots, not three! And another weird phenomenon, some people in Beijing put their headphone strings inside their shirt...... Pretty odd.

This reminds me of Catcher in the Rye...

Everything is so still and silent at night... Dark and glittering with stars. It's so quiet here compared to the busy streets of Beijing where there are taxis and cars at even 2 in the morning...

Bonjour, ça va??

It's 1:58 and I can't sleep... I slept the entire trip on the plane! No wonder...!!!

Wow, I can't believe half of the summer already passed by!!! It went by pretty fast... now I'm back!!!!! And facing tons of AP summer assignments, unfortunately... Fun fun fun. I sat on the plane wishing I could jump out the window and bounce on the fluffy clouds... except everything turned foggy and grey and I didn't prepare any balloons or parachutes if I did!

Everything seems so white when I first walked in my house from the airport... I think Beijing's terribly polluted :( I wish my plane landed past 8 so I could see the neon lights from above... I love looking at the night scene from airplanes!! Oh well.

Tis nice to come back and be re-connected to the Internet, although it wasn't that hard without going online everyday in China... I guess it's just a matter of what there is to do? Chatting with a friend for awhile before trying to fall asleep made me even more hyper... Is this what they call insomnia? :/

........It's not as cool as Mum and Dad said it was here... It's kind of hot and humid-ish! I wish I could fall asleep listening to my iPod but it has no battery... Boooored...

Could someone please sing me to sleep?
